About Los Angeles Temporary Power

Who We Are

Los Angeles Temporary Power has been getting construction sites energized across LA County for over a decade. We started as a two-truck temp pole outfit working residential remodels on the Westside, and grew into the six services we run today because the same customers kept asking for the next thing they needed.

How the Company Started

Our founder spent years as a field electrician watching the same delay repeat itself. The pole was ready, the permit was not. Or the permit cleared and nobody had filed with the utility. He started this company to take that whole problem off the builder’s desk, and the first hires were people who knew the LADBS counter and the LADWP queue by name. Pulling the permit and chasing the meter release on a temporary power pole is still the part of the job we care most about.

The Team

Every install is supervised by a licensed journeyman. Our project managers came out of the field rather than a sales desk, so when one of them gives you a date it is based on work they have personally done. Between the crew we have set poles for single-family remodels in Silver Lake, ground-up multifamily downtown, tilt-up industrial in Vernon, studio builds in Burbank and disaster response after storms. Every part of the temporary power we handle, from the temp pole through the light towers and the camera trailer, is scoped by someone who has stood on a site like yours at six in the morning.

Who We Work With

Our customers are general contractors, developers, electrical subs, film and event producers, facility managers and the occasional homeowner running a large remodel. Producers tend to call about generator rentals and quiet distribution, while facility managers more often need portable AC rental to carry a space through a planned shutdown. We stock and service equipment from the manufacturers this trade actually runs: Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Doosan, Wanco, MovinCool and Ubiquiti among them. We are a licensed C-10 electrical contractor, fully insured and bonded, and happy to send certificates before we ever roll a truck.

Why We Like This Work

There is a specific satisfaction in showing up to a bare dirt lot and leaving behind a site that hums. Somebody plugs in a saw for the first time and the project stops being drawings. We have been doing it long enough to know exactly which part of the process goes wrong, and the whole business is built around making sure it does not go wrong on your job.
