Work is running past sunset
Winter in Los Angeles takes usable daylight away by late afternoon. Rather than sending crews home early for four months, a couple of towers extend the working day and keep a schedule intact through the shortest part of the year.
You have a night pour or a swing shift
Concrete pours scheduled overnight to avoid heat or traffic need genuinely good light, not just enough to see by. Finishers working a slab in poor light produce work you will be looking at for thirty years.
The work is enclosed or underground
Parking structures, basements, tunnels and interior shells have no daylight at any hour. String lighting along the ceiling line covers those spaces far better than a handful of tripod lights and leaves the floor clear.

How We Work
One project manager runs your job from the first phone call through removal. Here is the flow:
1. Lighting plan
We take the footprint, the work type and any specified foot-candle level, then work out unit count and placement. On larger sites we mark the positions on your site plan so the delivery crew is not guessing at seven in the morning.
2. Delivery and setup
Towers arrive fuelled, tested and ready to raise. We level, stake and deploy each one, aim the fixtures to cover the work without blinding the operators, and confirm the coverage after dark rather than assuming it.
3. Fuel, service and swaps
Diesel towers get scheduled refuelling and we monitor run hours. If a unit faults we swap it rather than troubleshoot it on your time. At the end of the phase we collect everything and you stop paying.

Towable light towers
The standard for open sites. A trailer-mounted mast raises to around thirty feet with four LED or metal halide fixtures, driven by an onboard diesel engine that runs unattended for a long shift. One tower covers roughly five to seven acres of general area lighting depending on the fixture package.
Solar and hybrid towers
Solar towers run silently with no fuel, no exhaust and no refuelling visit, which makes them the right choice next to occupied housing, on long-duration road jobs, and anywhere fuel delivery is awkward. Hybrid units add a small engine that only starts when the batteries need it.
LED temporary lighting strings
Strings of sealed LED fixtures on a single cord, hung along corridors, stairwells, garage decks and interior shells. They are the most efficient way to light an enclosed space evenly, they run off standard site power, and they replace the tripod lights that get knocked over all day.
Balloon lights
A diffused inflatable fixture that throws soft light in every direction with almost no glare. Road crews and night pours use them because they light the work area without dazzling passing traffic or the operator on the machine.
Distribution to run it all
String lighting and plug-in fixtures need outlets in the right places. We supply spider boxes, temporary panels and feeder cable alongside the lighting, so the whole setup arrives as one package instead of three separate problems.
What Affects the Cost of Construction Lighting
Lighting rents daily, weekly or monthly. The number depends on:
- How many units the area needs. Coverage drives everything else. A quarter-acre residential lot is one tower. A full block with a structure on it is several, plus strings inside.
- Tower type. Diesel LED towers are the standard rate. Solar and hybrid units cost more per week and save it back on fuel and refuelling visits over a long term.
- Rental length. Daily rates are the least efficient. Weekly is better and monthly is much better, and a long road or infrastructure job should always be priced monthly.
- Fuel and service. Diesel is billed on delivery and tracks run hours. Solar removes it entirely, which is often the real argument for the higher rental rate.
- Setup complexity. Dropping towers on an open lot is quick. Hanging string lighting through six levels of parking structure is labor, and it is quoted as such.
- Distribution needs. Panels, spider boxes and cable to feed plug-in lighting are quoted with the order rather than discovered on delivery day.

How long will a light tower run on one tank?
A diesel LED tower typically runs between 50 and 100 hours on a full tank, which is one to two working weeks of night shifts. Older metal halide units burn through fuel considerably faster. Solar towers run all night on stored charge and recharge during the day with no fuel at all.
What are the OSHA construction site lighting requirements?
OSHA sets minimum illumination by area type. General construction areas need at least five foot-candles, indoor corridors and warehouses three, and shops, offices and first-aid stations ten or more. Excavation and tunnel work has its own minimums. Tell us the area type and we will specify to the number.
What are those lights on stands at construction sites called?
The trailer-mounted ones with a tall mast are light towers or mobile light towers. The strings of bulbs running along a ceiling are temporary construction lighting or festoon lighting. The glowing spheres used on road jobs are balloon lights. We rent all three.
Do you rent solar light towers?
Yes. They are worth asking for on residential-adjacent sites, long-duration road and infrastructure jobs, and anywhere a fuel truck cannot easily reach. No engine noise, no exhaust and no refuelling schedule to manage.
Can you light a parking structure or a basement?
That is what LED string lighting is for. Sealed fixtures on a single cord run along the ceiling line and light the whole deck evenly off site power. It beats tripod lights on cost, coverage and the number of times someone knocks one over.
How many light towers do I need for my site?
